A top leader of the One Order Gang was fatally shot by police in Spanish Town St. Catherine last night.

He is Othneil Lobban otherwise called ‘Thickman’.

Police say the incident occurred at about 10:00 pm.

In the meantime, police say following the fatal shooting of Lobban, security forces have been working to maintain order in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

In a release this morning, the constabulary said despite attempts by supporters of the deceased to disrupt the area, the police and Jamaica Defence Force have maintained a strong presence on the ground and the situation remains under control.

Lawmen say Thickman was listed as one of the top 5 most wanted individuals by the national Joint Anti-Gang Task Force’s Assault on Gang initiative.

However, he remained elusive and directed various violent activities and organized crimes in St. Catherine, Kingston and other parishes.

The police urged citizens to remain calm and to cooperate with the security forces, as they work to maintain peace and stability in the area.

It said the security forces are on high alert due to an extreme threat level, but assures the public that they are taking all necessary measures to ensure safety.
