Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he is looking forward to working closely with United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump and his administration to strengthen ties and advance mutual interests.

Mr. Holness, in congratulating Mr. Trump in a post on X, says Jamaica values the strong and enduring partnership it shares with the United States.

Mr. Trump was inaugurated again today as the 47th U.S. president.

U.S. media report that in his inaugural address, the 78-year-old president called for a revolution of common sense and vowed to quickly order sweeping policy changes.

These include the deportation of millions of undocumented migrants living in the United States.

He added that he was confident and optimistic at the starting of a thrilling new era of national success.
