Heart Institute of the Caribbean Chairman says addressing inequities in Jamaica’s health sector critical to reducing violence
Chairman of the Heart Institute of the Caribbean, Dr. Ernest Madu says addressing inequities in Jamaica’s health sector is one critical strategy to reduce crime and violence.
Dr. Madu, who was speaking to reporters at the Institute’s Balmoral Ave location in Kingston on Thursday, pointed to other jurisdictions with health inequities and how those nations have social failures and violence.
Noting that Jamaica has increasing prison populations and an issue with crime and violence, Dr. Madu said health inequities should not be ignored.
