14 nations to participate in JDF’s Exercise Event Horizon 2025 in effort to foster regional peace and security- Chief of Defence Staff
Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Antonette Wemyss-Gorman says the multinational, multi-agency and multi-domain exercise event Horizon 2025 is a demonstration of partnerships among nations to foster regional peace and security.
The exercise focused on enhancing collaboration in the resolution of likely real-world threats and crises was opened yesterday at the Kingston Waterfront.
This is the third staging of the event.
It will run from January 12 to 26.
It extends beyond Jamaica’s borders, with activities planned offshore in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Haiti.
Speaking during the event, Vice Admiral Wemyss-Gorman said this year’s exercise will test the JDF’s ability to respond collectively to crises.
The event will see the participation of 14 nations, 33 agencies,11 aircraft, 9 surface assets, 43 planned key events and more than 500 exercise participants.
