Hear the Children’s Cry calls for high school transition module to be included in Grade 6 curriculum
Advocacy group, Hear the Children’s Cry is stressing the need for a high school transition module to be included in the Grade Six curriculum at the nation’s primary schools.
Director of the group, Nigel Cooper noted that students who have completed the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) Examinations should be emotionally prepared for secondary-level education.
Mr. Cooper explained that through the transition module, children will be exposed to various topics including peer pressure and bullying.
While some parents will expose their children to the new high school environment through summer programmes, Mr. Cooper said not all parents have the resources to do this.
He noted that with the high school transition module, all students will benefit despite their financial limitations.
