Homes of several St. Catherine Municipal Corporation employees searched by MOCA officers amid misconduct probe
The St. Catherine Municipal Corporation is one of 17 locations visited by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-corruption Agency (MOCA) during a targetted operation, this morning.
MOCA said the operation conducted in collaboration with the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), and the Financial Investigation Division (FID), spans Kingston, St. Catherine, and Westmoreland.
Director of Communications at MOCA, Major Basil Jarrett said the operations are aimed at executing search warrants at the various locations, in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations of serious organized crime and misconduct.
However, he said the agency cannot divulge further details, as the investigations and operations are ongoing.
Major Jarrett said there is no planned arrest at this time, but that could change as the investigations continue.
Meantime, today’s meeting of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation has been adjourned.
Irie FM News understands that the meeting came to an abrupt end after chaos broke out during a multi-agency operation at the corporation.
The operation is being conducted by MOCA in collaboration with the JDF and JCF.
It is aimed at executing search warrants in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations of serious organized crime and misconduct.
The operation is underway at several locations.
