Water Minister Matthew Samuda says Kingston and St. Andrew is significantly more water resilient
Water Minister Matthew Samuda says Kingston and St. Andrew is significantly more water resilient.
He explains that significant investments have been made to develop the water systems that serve Kingston and St. Andrew and address the issue of non-revenue water.
Mr. Samuda notes that over the last decade, there has been a significant reduction in the gallons of water required to serve the areas.
He says while much has been achieved, the work continues.
Mr. Samuda states that construction works in the second phase of the Rio Cobre Water Treatment Plant project are to start this month.
This facility will serve Kingston and St. Andrew as well as Portmore in St. Catherine.
He says the next round of investments will include critical transmission mains.
