Good results for Jamaicans at the recent staging of the Jamaican Beach Wrestling Open
Theron Rose-Green and Aaron Johnson were the two best placed Jamaicans at the recent staging of the Jamaican Beach Wrestling Open.
The tournament held on the weekend at Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay, featured an international officiating crew and was contested by 25 wrestlers from Jamaica, United States, Canada, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
Rose-Green who contested the 90 kilogram weight class, took gold in that division while Johnson was a second place finisher for the absolute Grand Champion belt.
Meanwhile, Olympian Jonovan Smith of Puerto Rico was crowned the grand absolute champion after winning the Grand Champion Belt ahead of Cuba’s Leiner Perez and the American Kegan Calkins.
