Police have charged 24 year old Travis Phillip Ellis from Gregory Park St Catherine with the murder of veteran journalist Barbara Gayle.

Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Crime and Security portfolio Richard Stewart gave the update to Irie Fm news on Tuesday evening.

Ms. Gayle’s body was discovered at her home in the Caymanas Estate Country Club in St Catherine last Tuesday morning.

She was reportedly hit in the head and stabbed several times.

The following day, investigators located her motor vehicle that went missing from her home and arrested Ellis in relation to her murder.
