Jamaica & Dominican Republic sign air services agreement aimed at improving connectivity and trade

Jamaica and the Dominican Republic have signed an air services agreement aimed at strengthening connectivity and promoting trade and tourism in both countries.

The agreement complements the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.

It further establishes the mutual granting of over-flight and landing rights, authorization for non-scheduled and multi-destination air transport, as well as the implementation of strict operational and civil aviation security measures.

The agreement was signed yesterday by Transport Minister Daryl Vaz and Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez.

Mr. Vaz noted that the agreement was several years in the making.

He added that the agreement will boost trade and tourism between Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
