Several people were detained during a police operation in Porus, Manchester, this morning.
Porus has been at the epicenter of violence in the parish in recent weeks, with several incidents including a double murder, reported.
This morning’s operation was led by Commanding Officer, Deputy Superintendent Carey Duncan.
He noted that his team is maintaining a strong presence in the hot-spot area.
DSP Duncan sought to reassure residents that the police are actively deployed to ensure their safety this Christmas.
In the meantime, DSP Duncan said the police are pursuing leads regarding a recent threat made against officers at the Porus Police Station following the fatal shooting of a man.
