Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon says government pursuing several initiatives to tackle violence impacting students
Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon says the government is pursuing several initiatives to tackle violence impacting students.
This comes as several of the nation’s students have been the victims of violence-related incidents.
The most recent was the fatal shooting of two high school students on Airy Castle Road, in Stony Hill, St. Andrew on Thursday night.
According to Dr. Morris Dixon, the Ministry has been looking at cognitive behavioural therapy as one way to tackle violence affecting children.
She said while these initiatives are being implemented, the Ministry remains open to different approaches to addressing the problem.
She said the Ministry continues to do its best to instill discipline.
