Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel and his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, have put the rumour mill to rest, confirming that they are still very much together.

The couple shared a romantic video early today, silencing speculation about a possible breakup.

The breakup rumours began circulating after Kartel’s recent trip to Trinidad, where he launched his Vybz Rum. The fact that Sidem Öztürk was not by his side sparked speculation, which was further fuelled by Kartel’s photos from the event.

Earlier in the week Sidem shared cryptic messages to Instagram, including “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still” and “Put your love and faith into God, and you won’t be left high or dry,” added to the drama. Her use of the word “Bye” at the end of one post only intensified the speculation.

As the couple puts the breakup rumours to rest, excitement is building for Vybz Kartel’s highly anticipated Freedom Street concert, set to take place on New Year’s Eve at the National Stadium in Kingston.
