1085 people murdered since January

1085 people have been murdered in the country since the start of the year.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this toll, recorded as at Saturday December 7, is 234 fewer than the 1,319 murders recorded in the same period last year.

St. James had the highest number of murders with 120, followed by St. Andrew South with 115.

Portland recorded the lowest, with 13.

Meanwhile, incidents of rape, robbery, and break-ins also decreased.

Cases of rape declined by 115, robberies by 154 and break-ins decreased by 11.
