Staff at Jewels Paradise Cove in St Ann protest over wages
The hotel sector has been hit by another protest over wage concerns.
Irie Fm News understands that workers at Jewels Paradise Cove in Runaway St Ann are protesting.
The placard bearing workers are calling for increased wages and better working conditions.
Senior advisor and communication strategist in the tourism ministry, Delano Seiveright told Irie Fm News that he is aware of the protest and will be making checks.
This is the second protest this week and the fifth protest by hotel workers in recent weeks.
This week workers at Excellence Oyster Bay in Trelawny protested for better wages.
Last week staff at the Iberostar Hotel and the Secrets and Breathless Resorts in St James also protested over wage concerns.
And last month staff at Royalton in Negril, Westmoreland stayed off the job to demand better wages.
