The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is to inscribe Jamaica’s revival pilgrimage to Watt Town on its representative list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The announcement was made by Culture Minister Olivia Grange.

Ms. Grange said the inscription to the prestigious list will take place during the 19th session of the Inter-Governmental Committee.

The event is scheduled to take place from December 2 to 8, in Paraguay.

She also noted that the pilgrimage to Watt Town is Jamaica’s third inscription to UNESCO’s representative list.
