Jamaica’s Women Reggae Warriors crash out of Rugby World Cup qualifiers
Jamaica’s senior female rugby team, – The Women Reggae Warriors will have to play for third place in the inaugural America’s North Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
This after they were crushed 44-nil by the home side USA Jawks last night, in their semi-final clash at the Jacksonville University in Florida.
The 20 member Jamaica team which also include players from the USA and England, could not withstand the pressure of the Americans who led 28 -nil at half time.
In the last meeting between both sides in December 2023, the Hawks managed to withstand a late resurgence from Jamaica, clinching a hard-fought 30-26 victory at the Mona Bowl.
In the night’s other semi-final Canada Wolverines totally crushed the usa pioneers 80 -love.
Meanwhile, the usa hawks and the Canadian Wolverines Women will now face off in Saturday’s final at the same venue for the right to represent the Americas in the 2025 world series which leads to qualification for the women’s Rugby League World Cup in 2026.
Jamaica will face the USA Pioneers in the third place match up on Saturday before the final.
