Gov’t examining senate composition and will name replacement for Matthew Samuda soon – Holness
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government is examining the composition of the senate and will name a replacement for former Senator Matthew Samuda, soon.
Mr. Samuda resigned from the senate in September and was later elected Member of Parliament for North East St. Ann in a by-election.
The seat became vacant following the resignation of Marsha Smith.
Speaking at yesterday’s post-cabinet press briefing, Mr. Holness noted that the government is focused on refreshing its human resources, including for the senate.
