The new score board for Sabina Park may not be in place for Second Test against Bangladesh in December
The long awaited new score board for Sabina Park may not be in place for the upcoming Second Test match against Bangladesh in December.
This after reports surfaced last night, that the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has been facing a delay in acquiring one from India.
Through a partnership with the Indian Government, the park was expected to get a facelift ahead of the second Bangladesh test from November 30 to December 4 with the state -of- the art scoreboard, but it is now understood that the project could be delayed for several months.
It remains unclear, the reason for the delay, but the cutting-edge display is expected to feature advanced advertising capabilities and can be fitted into the existing frame of the old scoreboard.
The country’s only international accredited cricket venue has been without a functioning scoreboard for several years.
The Bangladesh cricket team is scheduled to tour the West Indies in November and December to play two test matches, three One-Day Internationals (odis), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I), with the test series being part of the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship.
