A female passenger died shortly after arriving at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James, yesterday.

Her identity has not been released and the cause of her death is yet to be determined.

MBJ  Limited, the operators of the airport, confirmed the incident in a social media post.

It says the passenger who was being conveyed by a wheelchair Agent was noticed to be having an emergency.

The nurse on-site and the Emergency Medical Team reportedly responded and  administered care.

MBJ Limited said despite several attempts, the passenger became unresponsive and was later pronounced dead.

The Airport said the deceased’s family members were informed.

MBJ limited also expressed condolences to the passenger’s loved ones.

Yesterday’s incident is the second  in recent times.

Last month 71-year-old, Leroy Smith who was departing the island, collapsed and died at the airport.
