The policeman who was injured in a hit and run incident in St James earlier this month has succumbed.

He is constable Linroy Codner.

According to the police, Codner died at the Falmouth hospital this morning.

It’s reported that Constable Codner received multiple injuries and was in the intensive care unit, before he was transferred to the Falmouth hospital.

Reports are that the constable was struck by a vehicle while on duty in the Granville area about 3:00 p.m. on Friday Occtober 4.

The driver of the vehicle has turned himself in.
