Police have named a person of interest in relation to the vandalization of a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus at the weekend.

He is Rakesh White.

In a now viral video, a taxi operator believed to be Mr. White can be seen throwing what appears to be stones at a JUTC bus filled with passengers, before running back to a motor car and fleeing the scene in the vehicle.

Speaking with Irie FM News this afternoon, Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, (PSTEB), Assistant Commissioner Gary McKenzie said the man identified as Rakesh White should surrender to the police immediately.

Meanwhile, JUTC’s Acting Managing Director, Owen Ellington expressed hope that criminal charges will be laid against the taxi operator.
