May Pen Hospital staff receiving counselling following alleged suicide at the facility
Counselling is being provided for the staff at the May Pen Hospital in Clarendon where a 72-year-old man allegedly took his life on Friday.
Ernel Simpson of Duke Street, May Pen was reportedly found in the male bathroom hanging from a window, with a sheet tied around his neck.
His body was reportedly discovered at about 12: 57 A.M., during a routine check.
Regional Director of the Southern Regional Health Authority, Michael Bent told IRIE FM News that the situation has affected the staff, and as a result, psychological support is being provided.
Mr. Bent noted that counselling support has also been provided for Mr. Simpson’s family.
The matter is being investigated by the police.
