West Indies Women beat Bangladesh to keep semi finals hopes alive in Women’s ICC T20 World Cup
The West Indies Women enhanced their chances for a spot in the semi finals of the Women’s ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates with a crushing eight wicket victory over Banglandesh in Sharjah earlier this morning.
Chasing a victory target of 104, the windies romped to the win, for the loss of two wickets with 43 balls to spare.
Captain Hayley Matthews cracked a top score 34 at the top of the order, while Stafanie Taylor retired hurt on 27.
Shemaine Campbell 21 and Deandra Dottin 19 then steered the ‘Windies’ home to boost their net run rate.
Earlier player of the match Karishma Ramharack bagged 4 for 17, to help restrict Bangladesh to a meagre 103 for 8 in their 20 overs.
She got support from Afy Fletcher who picked up 2 for 25 and Hayely Matthews 1 for 19.
Captain Nigar Sultana joty top-scored with 39 while Dilara Akter Dola made 19 and Sobhana Mostary made 16.
West Indies will be back in action against England in a crucial top of the table clash next week Tuesday.
