Suggestion for mandatory developmental plan for drivers, as part of measures to enhance road safety
As the authorities examine measures to reduce crashes on the nation’s roadways and enhance road safety, it’s being suggested that there should be a mandatory developmental plan for drivers.
Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Assistant Commissioner Gary McKenzie, says this would require drivers, after a period of time, to undergo seminars and workshops to improve their knowledge of road use and road safety.
ACP McKenzie says the conditions on the roads have changed over the years, including drivers’ behavior.
He states that many of the drivers seem to be unaware of what they should do.
He says the issue is being discussed by road safety stakeholders.
