Opposition Spokesman on Transport and Works, Mikael Phillips has renewed his call for the implementation of a road maintenance fund.

Mr. Phillips criticized the government for what he claims is inadequate funding for road repairs across the country.

He said the government’s allocations for the SPARK and REACH road repair programmes are insufficient to address widespread deplorable road conditions.

Mr. Phillips added that some contractors have complained about not being paid for work done to clear roadways after Hurricane Beryl.

He called on Prime Minister Andrew Holness to address the concerns.
