The Jamaica Football Federation has adopted a more serious tone in its effort to improve the standard of coaching across the island and coaches falling short of the requisite CONCACAF B license in the Jamaica Premier League will not be spared according to Rudolph Speid, chairman of the JFF Technical Committee.

A guest on IRIE FM’s sports call-in show ‘What’s The Score’ on Monday, Speid explained that given the efforts by the JFF to raise the standard, some teams and their respective coaches will find themselves in trouble.

He added that come next season, the standard will be raised even further, where the coaches must have a CONCACAF A license to guide their respective teams.

At present sixteen coaches are in training to become certified with another four to join the group in the next few months. Additional courses will be held in 2025 and 2026 ahead of the 2026-27 season where having an A license will be a criteria to coach in the Jamaica Premier League.
