Bail application to be made next month for accused in 10-month-old Sarayah Paulwell/Toshyna Patterson murder case

A bail application is to be made on October 24, for 36-year-old United States Navy Petty Officer, Leoda Bradshaw and the three men charged with the murder of politician Phillip Paulwell’s ten-month-old daughter, Sarayah Paulwell and her mother Toshyna Patterson.

The date was set yesterday when Bradshaw, her 30-year-old cousin Roland Balfour, David Smith and Bjorn Black appeared in the Home Circuit Court at a plea and case management hearing.

Bradshaw who also shares a child with Mr. Paulwell is charged with two counts of capital murder, conspiracy to murder, kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap.

David Smith, the alleged trigger man is also charged with two counts of capital murder and other charges.

Balfour is charged with two counts of accessory before the fact to murder and accessory before the fact to kidnapping.

Black is charged with two counts of murder and other offences.

Two other men, Richard Brown and Roshane Miller, who were charged in connection with the double murder pleaded guilty and have been sentenced.

Patterson and her daughter were allegedly abducted from their home on Gilmour Drive, St Andrew on September 9, last year.

They were taken to East Kingston where they were fatally shot and the bodies burnt.

Bradshaw is alleged to be the mastermind behind the killings and is alleged to have made a downpayment of $100,000 out of the $500,000 murder contract.
