Buju Banton ignites Atlanta

It was a melting pot of Caribbean people at the State Farm Arena on Sunday, as Buju Banton’s Overcomer Tour made a powerful stop in Atlanta.

Regarded as one of the premiere live event venues in the world with a maximum capacity of up to 16,888, the State Farm Arena saw an estimated 14,000 strong showing support for the Gargamel.

The event opened with his Def Jam labelmate and Haitian-American singer and songwriter Fridday, but it was Buju who could do no wrong.

During the two-hour set, he delivered hit after hit, as the crowd screamed, danced, and sang along.

Surprised guests included R&B singer Neyo and Gramps Morgan.

All-in-all, though not full to capacity like his New York shows, Buju Banton’s Atlanta leg of the Overcomer tour was a success.

His next stop will be on November 17 in Brooklyn New York at the Barclay’s Arena.

Recently, Buju Banton announced that several dates of the US leg of his Overcomer Tour were rescheduled.

In a statement released at the time, he said, “Due to scheduling conflicts beyond my control, I am rescheduling the Boston, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, LA and Chicago dates to 2025. I want to ensure I deliver the highest caliber of an experience and my fans are my highest priority. I look forward to sharing the new dates for these cities in the very near future. Thank You to all the reggae lovers across the world for showing up for us all. Peace, love and blessings, Buju Banton.”
