Energy Minister, Daryl Vaz has welcomed news that the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) has restored power fully to St. Elizabeth following Hurricane Beryl.

At a back-to-school fair in Ginger Hill in the parish today, JPS President Hugh Grant announced that the company restored power three days before its August 31 deadline.

Mr. Vaz who has been advocating for full power restoration said he is elated to hear the positive news.

However, he is urging the JPS to move quickly to restore power to customers in other parishes who are still without electricity, despite living in areas where restoration works were done.

Meantime, Mr. Grant said measures are being taken to reconnect those customers still without power.
