PNP expresses concern about Jamaica’s economic future following news that Dr. Nigel Clarke will take up IMF post
On the heels of news that Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke is set to take up an appointment at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Opposition is raising concerns about the future of Jamaica’s economic management and leadership.
People’s National Party (PNP) General Secretary Dr. Dayton Campbell says Dr. Clarke’s departure comes at a critical time for the country.
Dr. Campbell urges the government to outline the transition plan for the finance ministry quickly.
He noted that despite the concerns for Jamaica’s future, Dr. Clarke’s appointment to the prestigious role is a notable achievement for Jamaica on the global stage.
