Citizens called on to support International Coastal Cleanup day
Executive Director of the Tourism Enhancement Fund Dr. Carey Wallace has called on the nation to rally behind this year’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) day activities, for the betterment of the country.
ICC day will take place on September 21 and will see over 200 sites being cleaned.
Speaking at the launch of the initiative, Dr. Wallace urged well minded citizens to aid in changing elements considered to be wrong about Jamaica.
Dr. Wallace also called on members of the diaspora to play their part in improving the nation.
Last year, Jamaicans cleaned up over a hundred miles of coastline, at 183 sites.
The TEF said volunteers collected over 78,000 pounds of debris, during last year’s clean up.
