President of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) Steven Golding is challenging teachers’ colleges, to implement Garveyism in their curriculum.

He says, it is time to move from talk of teaching Marcus Garvey in schools-and celebration of the national hero, to integrating his vision.

Mr. Golding is of the view, that if teachers’ colleges take this step there will be a difference in Jamaican teachers.

He states that the UNIAis willing to assist with this initiative.

He says Garveyism is the medicine necessary for Jamaica, noting that the first lesson to be taught should be self identity.

Mr. Golding adds that Garveyism can solve the country’s crime and economic problems.

He was speaking at Irie Fm’s annual tribute for Jamaica’s first national hero, Marcus Mosiah Garvey, yesterday.
