8 in custody in relation to Clarendon mass shooting
The police say eight individuals are in custody, in connection with the killing of 8 people, in Cherry Tree Lane, Clarendon last Sunday.
The constabulary gave an update on the investigations on X formerly twitter last evening.
The update did not give any detail, on the circumstances under which additional persons were taken into custody.
However, the police say they have been working with their partners assiduously to investigate the Cherry Tree lane murders and the wounding of 9 others.
One suspect identified as Steve Smith, was fatally shot, in an alleged confrontation with the police. An illegal firearm was reportedly seized.
Grief counselling and support are being provided to the victims and the community.
A State of Emergency is also in effect in Clarendon, with a $25 million reward fund established for persons to share information, leading to the arrest and charge of suspects.
