Relatives of man killed by police during alleged confrontation in St. Catherine on Wednesday, stage protest along Spanish Town Bypass

Relatives of a man killed by the police during an alleged confrontation in St. Catherine on Wednesday, staged a protest today along the Spanish Town Bypass.

They claim that 20-year-old Thierry Headley, of Back Lands in Jones Avenue was killed in cold blood by cops who had been chasing 2 other men deemed to be criminals.

The relatives said Headley was at home preparing to go to work when the 2 alleged criminals ran onto the premises in their attempt to elude the cops.

They said the police called Headley out of his home and when the young man went outside, they shot him.

They also challenged the police’s claim that a gun was found on the premises.

Reports are that on August 7, during a joint police military operation in the community, some men allegedly fired at the officers.

Two men were fatally shot.

They were later identified as Headley and Orlando Davis.

The third alleged criminal escaped.
