Guman disarmed, weapon handed over to police
A Browning single-action pistol was handed over to the police after a man disarmed his attacker in an incident in Long Hill District, Petersville, Westmoreland yesterday.
Reports from the Whitehouse Police are that about 6:50 p.m., a man was standing along the roadway when he was approached by a gunman.
The gunman brandished a firearm, pointed it at the man, then opened gunfire in his direction. A tussle ensued, during which the man disarmed his attacker before he fled the scene on foot.
The police were summoned, and on their arrival, the firearm was handed over to them.
Investigation continues.
