5 men arrested in relation to huge cocaine bust in Kingston, yesterday

Five men were arrested in relation to the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine during a police operation in Kingston, yesterday. 

Reports are that officers from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division, FNID, within the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch, conducted an anti-narcotics operation at the premises. 

Cops reportedly found several knitted bags containing a substance believed to be cocaine.

The substance weighs over two thousand, five hundred kilograms and has an estimated street value of over US$75,000.

The contents of the knitted bags are being processed.

Head of the FNID Superintendent Sam Blake noted that the operation further demonstrates the ongoing efforts of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to combat narcotics and firearms trafficking in Jamaica.
