PM thanks US Embassy for donation of over US$300,000 worth of supplies to Jamaica’s Hurricane Beryl relief efforts
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has expressed appreciation to the United States Embassy for its contribution of over three hundred thousand U-S dollars worth of supplies to Jamaica’s Hurricane Beryl relief efforts.
The support is in response to a request from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, ODPEM which will coordinate distribution of the relief items.
Speaking at a handing over ceremony this afternoon, Mr. Holness noted that items supplied today, are part of a larger US$2.5 million dollar support package.
Meantime, US ambassador to Jamaica Nick Perry said the donation underscores the US continued aid to Jamaica in times of need.
