Attempts will be made to engage the government on matters relating to the latest group of Haitians to arrive in the country.

35 Haitians landed in Kensington Portland yesterday.

A male child and five females are among the group.

Attorney at law and founder of Freedom Imaginaries Malene Alleyne says the group wants the government to ensure the Haitians access the refugee status determination process.

The Haitians were escorted to the Port Antonio Health Centre for medical screening. The police are awaiting the medical results.

More than 80 Haitians who arrived in Jamaica have been returned to their country.
