Opposition leader calls on Government to address significant damage to the Sandy Gully
Opposition Leader Mark Golding is calling on Government to address significant damage to the Sandy Gully in St. Andrew.
Yesterday, Mr. Golding and other members of the Opposition People’s National Party toured the gully.
Specific focus was placed on the gully’s floor and protective walls in the West Bay Farm Road and Seaview Gardens areas.
Mr. Golding said the deterioration of this critical infrastructure poses a serious threat to the lives and properties of residents on both sides of the gully.
He said the state of the gully is a result of years of neglect, noting that the condition in the gully existed long before the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
Mr Golding added that the neglect is endangering lives and properties in Washington Gardens, Seaview Gardens and Waterhouse, and as such urgent action is required to address the issues.
