A 10-year-old girl is among 3 people believed to have drowned in St. Catherine on Thursday
A young girl is among 3 people believed to have drowned in separate incidents, in St. Catherine, yesterday.
They are 10-year-old Neisha Hinds and 20-year-old Beron Lee, otherwise called Chris, both of Federal Road, Spanish Town, and an unidentified man.
In the first incident, at about 6:12 AM, the body of the unidentified man was found on the shore, at Harbour Beach (formerly Fun City), in Port Henderson.
Then at about 6:30 PM, Hinds and Lee reportedly went swimming at Sugar Man Beach in Hellshire, got into difficulties, and were swept away by the strong current.
Head of the police’s communications network, Senior Superintendent, Stephanie Lindsay said the bodies of Hinds and Lee are yet to be found.
SSP Lindsay is urging citizens to stay away from streams, rivers, beaches, and the sea because the waterways remain impacted by remnants of Hurricane Beryl, including continued heavy rains.
