A nine-year-old girl is among three females who are hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning related to the use of generators.
The Health and Wellness Ministry says reports reaching its National Health Emergency Operations Centre indicate that the other two patients are 30 and 52 years old.
Generators were reportedly being operated in their homes during the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
As a result, Director of Health Promotion and Protection in the Ministry, Dr. Simone Spence is urging persons to take the necessary precautions when using generators.
