Hurricane Beryl threatens weekend events in Jamaica
The threat of Hurricane Beryl may force some Jamaican party promoters to pivot their plans for events slated for this weekend.
At present, a hurricane warning remains in effect for Jamaica as Hurricane Beryl heads towards the Caribbean.
Nicholas Evans, organizer for IRIE FM’s Street Dance slated to take place in Portland on Saturday, says that as of today, the event is still on. However, they will continue to monitor advisories from the Met Service.
This morning (July 1), the Met Service announced the advisory via social media, noting that the country could start experiencing conditions associated with the hurricane within the next 48 hours.
