A St. James mother and her daughter were arrested on Thursday in connection with the seizure of a Taurus pistol and several rounds of ammunition.

Operations officer for the parish, Deputy Superintendent Linroy Edwards said the two women were held during a joint police/military operation carried out in the New Ramble area of Bogue Hill.

The identities of the women are being with-held pending further investigations.
