Gov’t dismisses claim that it is building prisons in Westmoreland
State Minister for National Security, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn has dismissed claims that the government is building three prisons in Westmoreland.
A member of the People’s National Party reportedly made the claim in a video on social media.
It was also alleged that a cultural centre is to be destroyed to erect new buildings.
In a video response, the State Minister stressed that the claim is false while clarifying that police stations are being built, not prisons.
She noted that the planned concrete buildings will replace wooden structures which have fallen into significant disrepair.
