Opposition Leader Mark Golding says he is proceeding with a lawsuit against Deputy House Speaker, Heroy Clarke.

This following alleged defamatory comments Mr. Clarke made about Mr. Golding and his wife Sandra.

The statements were reportedly posted in a WhatsApp group.

Last week, attorneys representing Mr. Golding wrote to Mr. Clarke, demanding a public apology as well as settlement of a claim of damages for defamation.

Mr. Clarke was given until 4pm on Monday June 10 to comply.

The lawyers had said failure to comply would result in them bringing proceedings against Mr. Clarke in court for appropriate remedies.

In a social media post this morning, Mr. Golding said his lawyers have been instructed to proceed with the lawsuit.
