Minister of Finance, Dr. Nigel Clarke, said government intends to develop a procurement catalogue for the public service.

He said this will make the procurement of certain categories of goods more efficient. 

He made the announcement at the Caribbean Public Sector Financial Management Conference, earlier this week.

Dr. Clarke noted that to solve the issue a shared services approach will be employed.

He stated that the process involves having a single procurement that is requested on a specified basis. 

He added that a bid will take place where suppliers are determined.

Dr. Clarke said once they abide by the guidelines in the catalogue procurement will be more efficient.
