Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby has signalled his intent to continue his push for the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) to conduct an audit on the functionality of streetlights in the capital.
Mayor Swaby, who initially made the request before assuming his mayoral role, says he will raise the matter again during a scheduled meeting with JPS executives on May 27.
He says the audit will be one of several issues he intends to discuss at the meeting.
Mayor Swaby points out that several major thoroughfares, especially those close to the city’s airports are not well-lit.
