Over 50 critical incidents, including sexual assaults, brawls and gang violence involving school children, were reported to the Education Ministry between 2022 and 2023. 

Education Minister Fayval Williams outlined the issues, while making her contribution to the Sectoral Debate, in Parliament today.

The majority of the incidents occurred in high schools.

She also noted that the children continue to be influenced by troubling societal factors such as lewd music, all night parties and unstable home environments.
