Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell says property owners who are in breach of building codes have until August 31, to seek approval in an amnesty.

He explains that the aim is to formalize the process of approving building plans.

Mayor Mitchell warns that after the amnesty expires, persons found to still be in breach will be prosecuted.

He notes that some persons accused of breaching building codes are before the court.
